Communication Arts Week: 2/15 - 2/19

In CA this week, students will be participating in a variety of learning activities and assessments. Everything this week will have a common theme of kindness because it is Random Acts of Kindness Week. Learning activities will focus on increasing each student's English skills in the areas of plot, collaborative discussion, citing text evidence and fluency all while improving our classroom and school culture at the same time. A Weekly Reading Evidence Paragraph will be due this week on Friday, 2/19 as well.

Art -2nd semester

Hello 2nd semester art students and parents!
8th grade students are starting the semester off making a plaster bowl to practice and use a different sculptural material. This bowl (sanded and rimmed) is due Mon Feb 8th or Tue Feb 9th, respectively. We will save these unpainted bowls for a future project.

Next up will be will be a project based around Movement or Sound. Planning will start on Wed Feb 10 or Thu Feb 11 and is currently scheduled to be due Feb 26 or Feb 29, depending on your art day.

The beginning of the semester will have many choices for materials; including different sculpture materials. As the semester progresses, materials will start to be unavailable as a choice due to the climate in the art room.

Communication Arts: 2/8 - 2/12

In CA this week will be doing a variety of learning activities and tasks. The mini-lessons and learning activities and assessments are outlined below.

Decades Project and Presentation Due Date Change

Due to a change in schedule with our guest speaker, Mrs. Woodson, the decades paragraphs will be due on Thursday, 2/4. Presentations will begin on Thursday as well. Mrs. Woodson will be talking to the CA Classes on Wednesday, 2/3.

*Remember students who dress according to their decade or bring in memorabilia from their decade, will earn a special treat. Students will know in advance which day they will be presenting.
