NEW One Pager Procedures for CA

New One Pager Procedures

  1. Give students a class period to write their three proficient paragraphs.
  2. Students will be given a random writing prompt at the beginning of class.
  3. Students will write their One Pager on a blank Google doc. This document will be shared with the teacher and printed off and turned in at the end of the block.
  4. In order to get a computer students will need to have their graphic organizer checked off by the teacher.
  5. See rubric for length requirements

Goals of new system:

  • Students must turn in whatever they accomplished that day - no late papers unless they were absent
  • Will ensure teachers are getting a clear picture of their abilities that day - without parent involvement (better summative assessment)
  • Will lessen (or hopefully eliminate) plagiarism
  • Will hopefully motivate students to have their books finished on time since they know they will only have that specific day to type their paper

Communication Arts: 2/9 - 2/13

This week is Random Acts of Kindness Week, so we are infusing kindness related topics and acts into class through reading, writing and media. On Monday we read an article and made connections using an SDQR chart as well as completed a writing prompt in order to prepare for the Badger exam. We will begin our argument writing unit on Wednesday. To end the week, students will have a graded discussion and book scavenger hunt to find books that interest them. Be sure to check out the new One Pager procedures post.
