Science 8 - Week of April 3

Welcome to 4th Quarter Science! 

In class this week: This week we will be focusing on bringing Earth History concepts back to Wisconsin. Students will be working on individual PowerPoint Presentations in class this week, as well as reviewing for the science portion of the Forward Exam. An outline of this week's project can be found here. Student presentations will take place THIS FRIDAY during class. 

Upcoming Field Trip: As part of the Earth History topics covered in 8th grade science, the Ice Age Trail Alliance along with Ms. Pittner and Ms. Weckerly are planning a field trip to Devil's Lake State Park at the end of the month. Permission slips were sent home with students on Tuesday and are due back by April 18. If you are interested in attending the trip, please note the section for parent volunteers at the bottom of the slip. 

Free Weekend Event at UW: If your student is interested in a STEM career, considering check out the 16th Annual UW Science Expeditions this coming weekend - April 6-8. This event is FREE and open to the public!
  • UW Science Expeditions is the annual campus open house that welcomes the public to come visit their public land-grant research unviersity to connect with the people, places and programs in science and science outreach that serve people all year round. It's an opportunity for researchers to share science with people of all ages through hands-on exploration stations, open houses across campus and "Science Spectaculars" shows.
