Science 8 - Week of 9/10

Our first unit in Science 8 will focus on Earth History. We will be studying the processes that shape Earth by asking the question - How did Devil's Lake State Park form? All 8th grade students will be visiting Devil's Lake State Park on Oct. 3 to do a guided tour with their Educational Leader and look for evidence about Earth's history. Be on the look-out next week for a permission slip!

On Friday, students were assigned a reading response. Reading response are GRADED and are due on Tuesday for students who did not finish in class.

Monday -  Sedimentary Rocks (Rock Observation Completion Check due at end of class)
Tuesday- Igneous & Metamorphic Rocks (Rock Observation Completion Check due at end of class)
Wednesday- Rock layers & ancient environments (Rock Correlation Questions GRADED - due at end of class)
Thursday- Index Fossils (Index Fossil Correlation Questions GRADED - due at end of class + WI Bedrock Paragraph GRADED due Friday)
Friday- Relative and Absolute Dating
